Acacia Systems is proud to share that our Founder and Chairman Ted Huber has been awarded an AM for “significant services to defence through science and technology development” in the King’s Birthday 2024 Honours List.
In 1992, Ted Huber founded Acacia with the vision to build a world-class Defence technology company to provide innovative systems for the Australian Defence Force. Through his drive and focus on excellence, Acacia provided key capabilities to Collins class submarines, Hobart class air warfare destroyers and RAAF F/A-18 fighters. Ted has led the development of a world-leading system to allow multi-sensor data fusion capability between collaborating ASW units and this technology is now being applied to uncrewed naval vehicles.
Ted Huber has an enduring passion for solving the problems of our service men and women. He has a rare ability to bridge the gap from intellectual theory to practical systems. At sea aboard an Oberon class submarine to test advanced automated target motion analysis algorithms for towed arrays, Ted would be found in the back of the fin drenched alongside the sonar team recovering the towed array in rough seas.
Ted Huber has made an outstanding contribution to Australia’s Defence capabilities for over 30 years. His most enduring legacy is the establishment of an Australian owned and controlled, world-leading high technology, sovereign defence industry capability.
